BOARD TREASURER

ROBERT WHITE has been a Director of Syncora Holdings and Syncora Guarantee (a publicly held insurance company) since November 2008.  He is also a Director of SMA, a consulting firm that works with companies in the defense industry, as well as companies in other industries, since 2013. Mr. White was the founder of the Reorganization and Restructuring practice at O’Melveny & Meyers LLP, where he was a leading attorney for 35 years (1972-2017). He previously served as Executive Vice President of Maguire Properties (later MPG Office Trust), a publicly held commercial property REIT, as well as the Liquidating Trustee of Ascend Media LLC. He completed his appointment as Receiver of the Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino in Las Vegas in September 2008. Mr. White has been involved in numerous out-of-court restructurings and bankruptcies, representing debtors, creditors, equity holders and purchasers of assets.  Previously he served on five other for profit and two not for profit boards. He holds a B.S. from the University of Illinois Business School and a J.D., summa cum laude, from Michigan Law School. He is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and a Conferee of the National Bankruptcy Conference, which, among other things, advises members of Congress on potential legislation that would impact the operation of the bankruptcy process. He currently serves as a board member and chair of the finance committee of Chai Village. Bob has been diagnosed with cancer several times and is currently cancer free. He’s been supportive of PHASE ONE over the past year, attending the gala, and supporting Art vs. Cancer and our Giving Tuesday campaigns.
